During system startup, the configuration which is stored in Flatconf is parsed by /etc/fc.d/fc.* scripts and stored in paths specific for software being configured. However, sometimes there is a need to make changes to such automatically generated files, either to change them completely or just some parts of them.

Releases

Currently, releases are made “where they’re done”, but we will try to make at least one major release a year. New minor, bug-fixing releases, may be available each few months.

Each release is given a name of a random sports car racing circuit. So far we have used names like “Daytona” (0.1) and “Hockenheim” (2.0).

To install Lintrack, first download Lintrack ISO image and burn it. Boot the target machine from this CD.

A welcome text should appear (”Welcome to Lintrack”) along with few notes. Most probably you should just press Enter here and wait till the installer finishes booting.

About ccrypt

ccrypt is a simple approach for encrypting Ethernet frames payload without increasing their sizes. It uses any block cipher supported by the Linux kernel crypto API (e.g. AES, Blowfish) in cipher block chaining (CBC) mode. To avoid padding ccrypt uses residual block termination.
